Where are my manners?? re: baby shower #2

sometimes i can be a real douche! yes, i admit, as perfect as i think i am, i occasionally drop the ball. and that's just what i did....

i mentioned in my last post that D's coworkers took D and I to lunch and threw us a shower. but i only briefly mentioned it, which may have given *some* people the impression that i didn't care ;). so i'm going to dedicate an entire post to it, which i should have done in the 1st place.

it was a wonderful lunch - at one of my fav Asian restaurants (they let me pick), and the conversation was wonderful (it usually revolves around poking fun of D - one of my fav past times). and talk about generous people!! we left with a trunk full of goodies for Baby T. i was really hoping that someone would get us a monitor and the co-sleeper that was on my registry. and they did!

i wish i had pictures from the actual lunch! i made D sit in the chair and open presents while *i* passed them to him. i thought it was only fair since i was the one opening presents at our other shower. i was able to take a pic of most of what we got when we got back home...

so to all of D's coworkers that are reading (*cough* Joel, Lindy *cough*), thank you SO SO much for the shower and for the wonderful gifts, and i'm sorry i didn't post earlier. pls forgive this preggo chick! :) O, and Lindy, if you have any pics of the shower, pls send them my way!

36 week status and belly bump pic

35 wks 3 da

How Big is Baby: still the size of a honeydew.
Total Weight Gain: still up 33 lbs
Maternity Clothes: yep
Stretch Marks: still no sign of them...
Sleep: i have good nights and bad (really bad) nights. i wake up now about every 2-2.5 hrs to use the bathroom. i've been having really bad heartburn episodes, but the last couple of nights i think i've been able to avoid the heartburn by eating less (and less of the trigger foods), and eating earlier.
Best Moment this Week: my very sweet friends ended up throwing me a surprise shower over dinner last fri.
Food Cravings: nothing really
Gender: boy
Labor Signs: yesterday i think i had some slight contrax. i had to sit down for a couple of mins and wait until they subsided.
Belly Button: barely there.
What I miss: not having heartburn!!! heartburn is from the devil!
What I'm looking forward to: my next massage appt on the 12th.
Weekly Wisdom: i have no control over what's about to happen (or when), so i need to just relax and take it day by day!
Milestones: i now have weekly appointments until Baby T makes his arrival!

Awesome week last week!

*sigh* i hate that i've been neglecting my blog recently, but last week i ran into a little obstacle otherwise known as a sinus infection! it was absolutely terrible and almost ruined my entire week. luckily with the help of my awesome m/w i was able to get it under control, and now feel much better. surprisingly i had not been sick all pregnancy up until that point. so i guess my time was up.

even though i had that minor setback, i was able to finish out the week with a bang!

on fri i had a photo session with a local photographer turned friend (i've had her take pics of several life events of mine already). here's one of the awesome pics from the session, but she has several more on her blog

and on sunday a close friend of mine hosted a baby shower for us. now, truth be told, i was not on board with having a baby shower from the beginning. i'm not good with being the center of attention (though if you got to know me you would probably think the opposite), and i hate when people have to go out of their way for me. but the shower was awesome! D and i had so much fun. my friend had several games for everyone there to play, which appealed to my *very* competitive side. and i think everyone had a good time. so i'm really glad i was talked into it. here's D and i at the shower.

Book Review: Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy

mccarthy has a really funny/blunt way of expressing all the joys and hardships of pregnancy. it's definitely not a book to read if you want hard medical facts, and mccarthy doesn't claim to be giving any or claim to be a doctor. but it is a really quick read guaranteed ...to make you laugh and feel better that you are not the only woman out there that has experienced the things you are going to experience throughout your pregnancy.

i read this after i had read a few serious pregnancy/childbirth books, and i'm glad i did. it gave my brain a much needed break, and gave me a good laugh (though she did make me blush much more than she made me laugh).
