9+ Months and Giveaway

Dear Julius,

I miss you so much, Baby. I can't believe it's been over 9 months since I last held you, or gave you a kiss. You've been gone about as long as I carried you in my tummy. How is that possible? In some ways it still feels like it was just yesterday that we left the hospital without you. We miss you more and more each day. Daddy and I really haven't been doing much these days. We continue to struggle without you, but we continue the fight to survive. This weekend we went to watch the last Harry Potter movie. There was a scene in the movie that really saddened both of us. Needless to say, I ended up having a serious breakdown after the movie was over. I hate that it's so hard for me to do simple things like watch a movie with Daddy. I hate the fact that grief affects every single aspect of my life. I hate living without you. But I know that it's because of your love and support that I do.

Loving you forever and always,
Mommy

*****
today is august 1st which means the start of a new giveaway. this is perfect timing because ever since my breakdown this weekend after the HP movie, i've been in a funk. so doing this will help brighten my day, and help me focus on the good.

i'm really excited about this giveaway. the past few months i've been almost stalking this amazing artist and her work on FB. she sculpts such amazing pieces - it's hard for me to believe that a single human can be that talented! anyway, after months of eyeing her stuff, i decided it would be really great to have one of her pieces for a giveaway. the artist i'm referring to is Ms. D. Antonia Truesdale from The Midnight Orange.

the giveaway:
so this month's giveaway {for BLMs} is for a custom made butterfly baby mother's necklace.

via

via
here's the description from her etsy store:
"These baby butterfly necklaces are designed to lay heart to heart with momma. Their wings are translucent and when the light hits them the right way, their color glows against the chest.

***Please specify body color and wing color, and gem color in the notes to seller. For the body color, I need to know whether you want a light color or deep color (aka, light blue or deep blue). I will need to choose the wing species from what I have in stock, so it will be a tender surprise for you. I will match the gem to your color preferences but will need to choose the shape of the gem from what I have in stock.***

These are very tiny hand sculpted pendants that are just about an inch in length and will come with a starter chain that is 18 inches long and silver plated. You can upgrade your chain whenever you are ready."

how to enter:
to enter, just leave a comment with your preferences for body, wing, and gem color if you should be the winner. and for an extra entry, leave an additional comment telling me which piece{s} is your fav Midnight Orange piece{s}. personally, i have been fixated on this one. i will keep the giveaway open until midnight aug 11th, and then announce the winner on aug 12th {Juju's 10 month angelversary}. good luck! ♥

The last Harry Potter movie got to me too! The parts where they showed Harry as a baby and then the part where his parents came back to him when he was hit with the curse from Voldemort just got me thinking about my angel baby and how all the love in the world didn't stop him from dying.
Wow, Ms. D. Antonia Truesdale's work is beautiful! I really like her sending mom her rainbow sculpture and her we were three sculpture. Her little baby angel necklaces are so cute as well!
I'll be thinking of you and I hope you're able to get out of this 'funk' you're in!

I have been wanting one of these for a long time but just haven't gotten around to it. Such a beautiful talent to share. I would get a pink body and pink wings since pink reminds me of my Sami. Good luck to all you ladies.

I love the forever family of four. I absolutely love that the giveaways are in honor of your precious Julius. If I win, I would love a light one to represent both my angels.

Tiffany, I love those. I was also a basketcase after HP. My guess is you broke down after the scene with the chubby faced Harry in his crib. I broke down from the same scene, watching Snape hold Lily and crying. I held my little girl the same way and cried much the same. My husband and I both can hardly handle sad scenes in movies anymore. It's just too much.

I love these little necklaces. I never enter these giveaways, but I love the all pink with a pale blue stone. Love and hugs to you and your hubby.

Wow, I cannot believe that someone can sculpt such beautiful objects and so tiny. I really love this one: http://ny-image1.etsy.com/il_fullxfull.186171497.jpg

From the pendants, I like the brown baby at seven o'clock in your picture.

white with blue wings and a clear gem for my Ethan. He was only a little shy of 6 months when we lost him to SIDS.

I have a piece she made for me that has a grieving mom in a glass and wood box. There is a tealight, that flickers like a candle, in the corner. On top are two angels, representing my babies in heaven.
I love the piece because it fits how I felt when I lost my babies. I lost Avery to miscarriage a year ago and Samuel to stillbirth in March.
I also love the piece "go tell Mommy I'm okay". All of her work is amazing. And she is a wonderful, talented, caring woman:)

My favorite piece of hers is her new "sending mommy her rainbow" sculpture. It's gorgeous and I am still waiting for my rainbow baby and I can't wait to get the sculpture to give me a bit of hope :)

If I were to win I would like the body of the baby to be pink, with green wings, and as for my favorite midnight orange piece it would have to be:"Crushed"

If I were to win, I would want a white baby with light blue wings and a clear jewel b/c Lucian's birthstone was a diamond. My favorite Midnight Orange piece is The Final Departure. It has been my very favorite since the moment I saw it.

What a beautiful giveaway! I lost my son on the 19th May this year so if I were to win I would want a little deep blue baby with green wings and a yellow gem :) As far as picking my favourite piece of D. Antonia Truesdale. . .its almost impossible to pick just one (i am a HUGE fan) but I would say "Quiet Time" is really a piece that I seem to be connecting with at the minute xx

Tiffany, what an incredibly sweet thing for you to do. I am in love with D. Antonia's works of art! I currently own 3 sculptures with every intention to order more in the future. She is amazing. My new found favorite is sending mommy her rainbow.

Bethany said...

If I were to win, I would choose a green gem, as that is my son's birthstone... Sebastion will spend his first birthday in heaven on August 12. As far as the colors... I honestly think I would leave that up to D. Antonia, I like the element of surprise:)

My heart breaks for all you mothers who are unable to hold your little ones in your arms. We lost our daughter Grace last August 29th after the most incredible and heart wrenching hour of my life. I miss her every day. I love the white angel with the pink or purple wings and pink gem.
May God bless and encourage you in your pain.

I'm entering for my sister, though we both lost babies. I lost twins in September and she lost my beautiful niece who was 4 months and 24 days old. She lost her May 22. Her birthday is tomorrow and this would be awesome. I think she would love the one in the picture with the light colored body and pink wings!
